In case you're wondering the "Key Lime Pie" is an American dessert named after the small Key limes that are naturally grown in the Florida Keys. It's basically a lime pie, topped with meringue. It's not particularly healthy, but it tastes delicious. The creamy-zesty flavour combination of meringue and lime is a classic one, so we thought it was time that we turned it into a healthy smoothie!
We've used our Cleansing Greens blend to give this recipe a superfood kick!
1 Large Glass
- 1/2 Cup coconut water
- 1 Kaffir lime leaf
- Juice and zest of 1/2 Lime
- 2 Tablespoons cottage cheese (or yogurt/coconut yogurt)
- 1/2 Frozen Banana
- 1 Teaspoon Cleansing Greens
- 1 Tablespoon rolled oats (toasted)
- 5 Almonds
- 1/2 Teaspoon Coconut Oil
- Mix all ingredients in a high-speed blender for 30 seconds or until smooth and creamy.
- Top with your favourite toppings such as flaked coconut or oats.
